Comprehensive Workflow Reference Guide
Import & Organize
Use the Browse module to import photos. The built-in Catalog helps you organize, add keywords, ratings, and filter images.
Select (Culling)
Use the Star Ratings and Color Tags in the Browse module to flag your picks and rejects quickly.
White Balance
Use the White Balance eyedropper in the Develop module to click on a neutral gray area, or manually adjust Temperature and Tint.
Exposure & Tone
Adjust core sliders in Exposure and Tone sections: Exposure, Contrast, Highlights, Shadows, Whites, Blacks.
Color & Saturation
Adjust Vibrance and Saturation globally. Use the Color panel for HSL (Hue, Saturation, Luminance) adjustments.
Lens Corrections
Enable Auto Corrections or manually fix Distortion, Vignette, and Chromatic Aberration in the Lens panel.
Noise Reduction
Use the AI-powered Noise Removal panel within Develop for control over Luminance and Color noise.
Masking Tools
Click Masking in any module to access tools like AI Quick Mask (selects skies/subjects automatically), Brush, Gradient, and Radial masks.
Local Edits
Apply adjustments (exposure, color, clarity) only to masked areas. Use layers for complex, stackable adjustments.
Sharpening
Use sliders for Amount, Radius, Detail, and Masking (creates edge mask) in the Sharpening panel.
Color Grading
Use Effects module for Shadows/Midtones/Highlights wheels, Split Toning, or apply LUTs and Looks.
Special Effects
Add Vignettes, Bokeh, Sunbursts, Grain, and textures using layers and blend modes in the Effects module.
Export Parameters
Choose file format (JPEG, TIFF, PNG), set Image Size/Resolution, and select Color Space (sRGB, Adobe RGB).
Output Sharpening
Apply output sharpening specifically for the medium: Screen, Matte Paper, or Glossy Paper.
