Weekly Image from Scotland – Ardessie Falls SB

A short, steep walk alongside the Allt Airdeasaidh (stream)enables you to view the charming string of the 4 impressive Ardessie waterfalls. Along the way, you also pass a few scenic rapids and when you arrive at this upper waterfall, take a break before you take any photographs. This fall is not particularly high, a few meters only, but is quite wide and can look amazing in the right weather.

The path is eroded and wet in places, but there are beautiful views back across Loch Broom on a fine day BUT in Summer, if you go around sunrise or sunset or any humid day, you’ll be pestered by huge swarms of MIDGES ( If you’re from the US – think noseeums with an alligator’s bite.
