Phillips Harbour, Mey, Caithness

Out and about a couple of years ago, I wandered down to Phillips Harbour, Mey in Caithness and saw this chap tidying up some images on the harbour wall, so naturally we got chatting. The guy was incredibly knowledgeable about the harbour and works that had been done on it, no surprise as his name was Derry Ross, he’d been the foreman when the harbour was renovated, what did come as a surprise was that the completed works were re-opened by Jimmy Page, founder and guitarist of Led Zeppelin.

Update: After putting this image on a Scottish site, I was so pleased that many of his family and friends replied with additional information or detail – from that I gathered Derry was a well respected guy, who made a great job of anything he was involved in – I thank to all friends and family who took the time to comment.
