- Weather: Rain is always possible, generally quite cool. Pack layers, waterproof gear.
- Roads: Many roads in the Applecross area, including Bealach na Bà, are single-track with passing places. Drive slowly, anticipate oncoming traffic, and be courteous. Large vehicles and motorhomes are advised against Bealach na Bà.; may close if icy
- Cell Signal: Weak in remote areas (e.g., Loch Coruisk). Carry offline maps.
- Terrain: Bealach na Bà, Torridon Hills uneven. Some trails wet, rocky or uneven. Sturdy boots needed.
- Midges: While typically prevalent in late Spring to late Summer, midges can be annoying on still, damp days. Bring repellent.

- Local Mountain Rescue teams operate in the Highlands.
